With the aim of reaching Yangon city and internet accessible population, Seventh-day Adventist Church’s media arm of Advent FM is airing its program beginning from 10 October 2020.
The dedication program of Advent FM was held today on zoom meeting attended by the president of Adventist church in Myanmar Pr. Saw Timothy, Executive Secretary Pr. Kelly P Lyan, Treasurer Saw Calley Thein and Yangon Mission officers respectively.
In the opening ceremony Pr. Saw Timothy said that “The stone will spread the message of God today. All equipment of modern technology enhanced to share the message of God.” It has been a blessing for us especially in this pandemic time for reaching the message by FM radio. We are targeting to share in the FM program about our Biblical belief, Health reform message and gospel songs. He urges to all the producers to have good spiritual mind to produce daily program. The missionary spirit is the must requirement of FM producers.
“This is the first start in Yangon mission and we will soon extended to all the mission and various languages respectively.” Pr. Saw Shine Tha, MYUM Communication Director.
We are also planning to involve all the church members in this FM radio program in order to share their personal witness and blessings to the FM radio listeners.
The dedicated prayer was offered by Pr. Kelly P Lyan to further development and growth of the media ministry in Yangon Mission and also in Myanmar.
The dedication program has been ended with the closing prayer offered by Saw Calley Thein, treasurer of Adventist church in Myanmar.
The Yangon Mission President, Secretary and Treasurer expressed thanks to all the dedicated personnel and producers to make this FM program a success.
The capacity building training program was held at Melamaung village, Ann township, Rakhine state on April 24-28, 2018 with participants of 52 from respective churches and also Non Adventists from other religion.
Nant Saung Wai Wai, MW/ChM director of YAM, Saw Ler Mu Aye, YAM treasury office and other resource persons have led various lecture on the ministry leadership.
It is a regular training conducted since 2016 for the church women in the Rakhine area comprising 3 districts of Ann, Thandwe and Kyauk Phyu.
The Ann district leader Pastor Win Naing, who has organized to conduct the several church trainings in the area expressed his thanks to all church leaders for keeping deep interest to the remote area of Yangon Adventist Mission.
The first Advent message was reached to the Rakhine Coastal area in 80s and so far it is still challenges to reach the area.
The YAM youth Spiritual Revival camp was conducted on April 29-May 2, 2018 in Kan Thar Yar Beach, Gwa township, Rakhine state in Myanmar. The total of 62 youths from Thandwe and Kyauk Phyu districts have participated in 3 days revival camp meeting.
The resource persons were U Aung Zaw Latt, who is an Adventist Community Serviceman, presently supporting more than 40 school going students attending various Adventist schools and U Aung Zaw Win, President of reputed youth organization working in various states in Myanmar for youth leadership and civic education.
The personnel from YAM headquarters also attended the camp and conducted respective topic on training such as health principle for youth, youth and ethic, church led by youth and other related training topics.
Nant Saung Wai Wai, Health Ministries director of YAM along with husband Maung Maung Myo Chan, youth ministries director were also seen in the camp program.
“We expect more camps in our Rakhine area in future” a camp attendee expressed her feeling about the camp.
The participants have dedicated their ability to commit themselves to the church work as involving in church various activities in dedication services.
The YAM administration has started to implement Adventist Church Management System (ACMS) within its mission with effective from 2018 onward. The training and induction workshop of ACMS was held at YAM headquarter on January 16, 2018 today.
The Executive Secretary of MYUM Pr. Kelly P Lyan and YAM Executive Secretary Pr. Khin Maung Yin have led out the induction program. The total of 37 church pastors and church clerk from respective churches attended the one day workshop.
“It will be hard for once but ease to have good management system of our church in future” said by a church clerk.
The newly organized Yangon Adventist Mission of Seventh-day Adventist church in Myanmar has confirmed its Executive team on December 15, 2017. The executive team is commissioned to begin from 1 January 2018 and ending on 31 December 2020.
